A High-Level German Delegation Headed by the Commissioner for Human Rights Visits the Headquarters of the STACO in Tripoli
In the context of strengthening mutual cooperation and reviewing the efforts made in humanitarian and academic work, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi Charity Foundation, Eng. Salem Ramadan, received a high-level official delegation from the German Government and the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Libya at the Foundation’s headquarters in the Libyan capital, Tripoli.
The visiting German delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Lars Castellucci, the Federal Government Commissioner for Human Rights Policy and Humanitarian Assistance and Member of the German Bundestag, alongside Mr. Dominik Lauff Wilhelm, First Secretary of the Politics, Communication, Migration, and Human Rights Section at the German Embassy in Tripoli.
The German delegation was closely briefed on the Foundation’s operational mechanisms and listened to comprehensive explanations regarding the humanitarian and relief projects undertaken by the Foundation across various Libyan cities. The presentation also highlighted the Foundation’s academic and educational contributions, which aim to build capacities and develop young competencies, thereby contributing to community stability and sustainable development.

For his part, Prof. Dr. Lars Castellucci expressed his profound admiration for the Foundation’s operations, praising the high level of professional and organizational performance that distinguishes the Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi Foundation. He commended the active and pivotal role the Foundation plays in crisis response and in providing humanitarian support to the most vulnerable groups, emphasizing the importance of these efforts in alleviating suffering and supporting human rights pathways in Libya.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi Foundation, Eng. Salem Ramadan, honored the visiting delegation by presenting the “Foundation Shield” to the representatives of the German government. Eng. Salem Ramadan affirmed that this gesture comes in appreciation of their generous visit and in recognition of Germany’s continuous commitment to supporting humanitarian and civil work in Libya. He expressed his hope that this visit will serve as a starting point towards broader horizons of strategic partnership between the Foundation and international entities supporting stabilization efforts.
